Lowell, MA – Classically trained artist, Mary Rose O’Connell’s exhibition will include a collection of portrait, figurative, still life, and landscape paintings. Her work has won numerous awards and is exhibited nationally, most recently at The National Arts Club in Gramercy Park, New York, NY. O’Connell’s paintings have been purchased for many private and corporate collections, including Enterprise Bank and Lowell City Hall.
In pursuit of her artistic training Mary Rose had many years of formal training with Mary Minifie, a modern master of the Boston School. Mary Rose’s work shows the benefit of a strong grounding in draftsmanship and design. This style of painting is done in natural light and is influenced by the beautiful colors of the Impressionists. Mary Rose continues to paint with other artists across the United States whose work she admires.
She maintains a studio in the Whistler house Museum of Art and a permanent display at The Brush Gallery and Studios located within the Lowell National Historic Park. She is a juried member of the Rockport Art Association, the North Shore Arts Association, the Oil Painters of America, the Portrait Society of America and an associate member of the Guild of Boston Artists.
